I’m not going to lie, a kitchen pan is really not something that would normally get my pulse racing (I can cook, but my repertoire is pretty limited it has to be said) or my creative juices flowing. And for the sake of complete transparency, when I was first approached about working on this partnership, my immediate instinct was a polite ‘thanks, but no thanks’. But then I clicked on their . This was one stylish pan! If ever there was a pan to get excited about, the is definitely the one (I mean, those colours! My personal favourites are Sage (like mine), Steam, Spice (so pretty), Char and Blue Salt). Consider me onboard!
The whole idea behind this pan is that it can be used in so many different ways. It can replace your frying pan, sauté pan, steamer (they’re just annoying aren’t they?), saucepan, non-stick pan, spatula and spoon rest! So more space in your kitchen cupboards (I can’t vouch for yours, but mine are a disaster). Bonus. The Always Pan didn’t get that name for nothing you know! So you can use it to braise, sear (not sure what either of those are, but I’m sure you do…), steam, sauté, fry, boil, drain, serve (a pan that good looking is welcome on my table anytime!), store – you get the picture.
Other things to know and love about this pan (that I discovered first-hand) – it’s super-light, and non-stick, but made from an exclusive non-toxic ceramic coating made without potentially toxic materials (such as PFOAs, PTTFEs, other PFAs, lead, cadmium, toxic metals and nanoparticles).
Extra things worth knowing
A little goes a long way
You only need a small amount of oil/butter to fully coat the pan before cooking.
Skip the metal
Stick to non-metal utensils to avoid damaging the coating.
Washing up
It just needs a quick wash with soapy water and a soft sponge after use.
It also has…
Nesting beechwood spatula with integrated spoon rest
Custom stainless steel steamer basket
Sturdy aluminum body for fast, even heat
Lightweight construction (3lb body)
A modular lid to let off steam when you want to and lock it in when you don’t
Pour spouts, because nobody likes a mess
Compatible with all hobs
I invited my friend Jo, a chef, over to help me (well, technically I was helping her…) whip up a simple delicious supper for myself and my family,  using only the Aways Pan (I wanted to put it through its paces and really see what it could do before writing this post). You can see the results for yourself, above (seared tuna with sesame seeds, basmati rice flavoured with cardamon, tender stem broccoli, and a colourful vegetable stir fry).
I love the for cooking vegetables. Jo used it to steam the broccoli. A great tip – if you’re using your pan to cook something like a curry  (I made a Thai green curry in it the other day) or a bolognese, you can just add the steamer on top to cool your vegetables, while the main dish is simmering underneath. Clever. And anything that is as clever as it is beautiful is always going to get a yes from me.

So to sum up (in case you haven’t already gathered!), I am pretty smitten with my sage green Always Pan (it even pleases me to see it on the drying rack next to the sink…), and I think you’re going to love it too.
