The Last…

Time you danced?
I had a little kitchen boogie with my son the other day. This is as close as I get to a dance floor these days. I’m in the process of organising a big party to rectify this.

Thing you bought from an actual shop?
Grapes.

Thing you bought online?
Beauty Pie’s ‘Dry & Dehydrated Skincare Routine.

Person you spoke to?
My office landlord, Simon who has the office upstairs. He just popped in to say hi!

Podcast you listened to?
Elizabeth Day on The Conversation. I’m  completely obsessed with the whole concept around her new book about friendship.

New brand you discovered?
Hmm, Probably Kika Vargas. The prettiest dresses with the most gorgeous, feminine details. I’m a sucker for a bow and a ruffle.

Film you watched at the cinema?
What’s Love Got To Do With It. En famille.

TV series you watched at home?
We’re currently watching Shrinking (with a rather sceptical, eye-rolling psychologist husband sitting on the sofa next to me – annoying). And the current season of Succession (of course!!).

Restaurant you ate at?
Peggy Jean in Richmond, for my friend Kim’s birthday.

Takeaway you ordered?
Eeeek, Domino’s (cringe). It was overpriced, I was underwhelmed.

Book you read?
Unless I’m on holiday, sadly I just tend to dip in and out of various books simultaneously (I have a big pile next to my bed with the corner of pages turned down). But the last time I devoured a book was The Paper Palace on holiday last year. I literally couldn’t put it down. I was reading it between courses at the dinner table!!

Magazine you flicked through?
House & Garden.

Country you visited?
America, to visit my mother-in-law who lives in Upstate New York. We always try to squeeze in a quick trip to Manhattan en route.

Town you walked around?
Probably central London. I’m always there.

Time you cried?
On Mother’s Day. Don’t ask.

Time you laughed until you cried?
Last Thursday at dinner with my friend Lisa. Of course, I have no idea what we were laughing about now, but I can confirm their were tears.

Thing you do at night before switching off the light?
Take my glasses off.

Meal you cooked?
Macaroni cheese. I’m no Nigella.

Cocktail You Drank?
A Margarita. It’s my go-to, always.

Play you saw?
Embarrassingly, I think it was Cinderella with my friend Kim and our daughters.

Thing you baked?
I actually can’t remember, it’s been that long! I used to bake, but now my daughter is the baker in the house – she’s amazing. She makes the best scones I have ever tasted. Fact.

Thing you burnt?
Probably soup! I always get bored, leave it and go off and do something else, then forget all about it…

Time you said sorry?
Probably to someone who bumped me with their trolley in the supermarket! I know.

Website you bookmarked?
I think it was a school uniform supplier. Urgh.

Song you added to a playlist?
Concrete Schoolyard by Jurassic 5

Person you kissed?
My son.

Travelled by bus?
Yesterday. I’m always on the bus. You’ll find me on the 65 most days (ideally the front seat of the top deck if I’m especially lucky).

Radio station you listened to?
I’m not gonna lie, we love a bit of Smooth FM in the office.

Time you swore?
Probably this morning (and it’s only 10.18am…).

Biscuit you ate?
I’m quite partial to a fig roll.

Item of clothing you wore two days running?
The jumper I am wearing right now from Sézane. They do the best knitwear!

Thing you smelt?
I’m like a beagle, so can literally smell EVERYTHING ( oh my God, when I was pregnant…). Probably a lovely scented candle – there is always one lit on my desk (my current favourite is Diptique’s Lys). I’m such a fashion cliché

Time I said I love you?
To my kids this morning as they left for school.
