The Last…

Time you danced?
Yesterday in the kitchen with my children to George Ezra – we are regular instigators of a kitchen dance party.

Thing you bought from an actual shop?
Last week at ME+EM I bought a collarless cream boucle jacket.

Thing you brought online?
Moth wings for my son’s Mini Beast Day. He was fascinatingly specific.

Person you spoke to?
My best friend from school, Anna who I saw this morning.

Podcast you listened to?
NearlyWeds, full disclosure, I’ve never listened to it before but my brilliant friend and poet Tally Gilbert was on it.

New brand you discovered?
Dr Bunting. I know I’m late to the party but the Gossamer SPF is game-changing.

Film you watched at the cinema?
James Bond, No Time to Die – it’s been a while.

TV series you watched at home?
I’m a complete cliche, Yellowstone and Succession, obviously.

Restaurant you ate at?
Kutir.

Takeaway you ordered?
Pho.

Book you read?
I read every night without fail. I find it impossible to fall asleep otherwise. I’ve just finished an Amor Towles few weeks and read Rules of Civility, The Lincoln Highway and A Gentleman in Moscow. They are all extraordinary each in their own way and I’m now in a pit of mourning. I’ve also just finished listening to Atomic Habits by James Clear which my friend Billie recommended. I listen to non-fiction as I find it impossible to read and have Audible on often instead of the radio.

Magazine you flicked through?
Since I left magazines I rarely read them, I hope one day I’ll rediscover the love. That said, I read last weekend’s FT HTSI and Sunday Times Style’s digital edition.

Country you visited?
USA. We went to Tennessee to see some of our dearest friends and it was such a brilliant trip.

Town you walked around?
Other than London? Nashville.

Time you cried?
This morning at a memorial service for one of my favourite school teachers. She was a truly good person and listening to her life and the joy she brought was such a powerful reminder of what matters and what simply does not.

Time you laughed until you cried?
The night before last when my husband showed me a pair of £850 Balenciaga clogs online (he was browsing on his favourite Mr Porter for less ludicrous shoes, I promise).

Thing you do at night before switching off the light?
Check the weather for the next day. Pro tip, I’ve recently deleted the BBC app as it’s so pessimistic. The Met Office one is my new go-to.

Meal you cooked?
Fish Tacos.

Cocktail you drank?
Margarita.

Play you saw?
A Streetcar Named Desire at the Almeida.

Thing you baked?
Chocolate nests to use up Easter eggs that were still loitering in the cupboard.

Thing you burnt?
Also Fish Tacos.

Time you said sorry?
This morning for being snappy.

Website you bookmarked?
I’ve just checked and I have 51 tabs open on my phone and probably as many on my laptop. The latest is Meri Meri party decorations for my daughter’s 8th birthday.

Song you added to a playlist?
Michael Kiwanuka Light.

Person you kissed?
My husband.

Travelled by bus?
I love the bus! Yesterday the 319 to Chelsea.

Radio station you listened to?
Absolute Country. Not sure who loves it more, my children or me.

Time you swore?
I think I do it constantly without noticing. Awful.

Biscuit you ate?
Nairn’s Coconut and Chocolate Oat Cakes.

Item of clothing you wore two days running?
My favourite Breton jumper from La Ligne.

Thing you smelt?
Chocolate spread, my daughter insisted it was ‘heavenly’ and she was right.

Time you said I love you?
This morning to my children and husband and then to my best friend after the memorial.

Loving right now…

Embarrassingly I often run out of my own stationery so these note cards in ballet & nubuck with cotton bows.

I love the simplicity of Ancient Greek sandals and these gold ones have been top of my list for ages.

Last year I exclusively wore one swimming costume on repeat, it was that good. I’ll definitely be investing in the same style in white from Casa Raki.

I recently bought a necklace from Heavenly London; I don’t think I’ve taken it off for more than a day since.

I keep a constant supply of Lockdown Liquor & Co in the fridge – an even spread between Lychee Martinis, Margaritas and Ginger Cosmos. I also think their personalised bottles make the best presents.

I don’t wear a lot of makeup at all but there are three brands I am devoted to and whilst I’d use anything by each of them, there are some I can’t live without (not to be dramatic): Rose Inc (Tinted Serum), Westman Atelier (Liquid Lip Balm) and Merit (The Minimalist). My holy trinity.
