Our story
With over 20 years experience styling and art directing shoots for fashion brands and glossy magazines including Marie Claire, Glamour, Red, and The Telegraph’s Stella, Sarah Clark’s expert eye, industry insider intel, and unapologetic love of a bargain proved invaluable for her next challenge.
After having twins, in 2010 Sarah launched LittleSpree with a mission to help similarly overwhelmed mothers shop stylish and affordable clothes for their children. With natural warmth and humour – and determination to leave no stone unturned – Sarah quickly became the best friend readers never knew they needed, trawling for treasure in the most unlikely places and happily sharing her daily finds with the promise to never recommend anything that she wouldn’t dress her own children in.
As Sarah’s children grew, so did her community of loyal followers. Hooked on her signature laid-back feminine style (always with a tomboy edge), women began asking for style tips for their own wardrobes and homes. Through her carefully curated edits combining pieces even the brands themselves sometimes didn’t realise they stocked – from an inexpensive and unique gift for a friend, to a ‘forever’ handbag – Sarah soon became their dedicated online ‘personal shopper’, as committed as ever to only sharing items she would buy herself.
2022 marked time for a new look and feel (who doesn’t love a makeover?), and a name change to reflect this coming of age: Douceur.
A beautiful French word, Douceur [pronounced doo-sir] loosely translates as sweetness, softness or gentleness. “I lived in Paris for two years as a teenager,” explains Sarah, “It’s where I fell in love with fashion, particularly French style – the effortless aesthetic and attitude, the laid-back femininity and romance… that’s what this brand is all about. I love that Douceur evokes that ease and elegance, whilst also looking and sounding so charming and chic.”
Packed with stylish and accessible edits carefully curated by Sarah and a collective of trusted industry tastemakers and friends she personally turns to for advice, in short, Douceur does the hard work to help you look and feel your very best.
