LS favourite, Albaray (who brought us our favourite tweed coat and ruffle jumper for Autumn/Winter) turns one tomorrow, and that is definitely something worth celebrating!
Based upon the founding principles of a more thoughtful, environmentally conscious approach to a womenswear fashion brand, Albaray was created by an all-female trio with over 25 years of experience within the fashion industry who saw an opportunity to build a brand that complemented their evolving attitude to clothes and fashion. Set up against the challenging backdrop of a pandemic and during lockdown, the small team’s mission was to create considered clothing for modern lifestyles that stand the test of time, without compromising style or quality.
Sustainability is at the forefront of every decision at each stage of the process. Each garment in the Albaray collection is made with sustainable fibres including, Ecovero™ viscose, organic cotton, and recycled polyester.
A considered approach is always taken, from the fabrics to the finer details, including all packaging such as swing tags and labels that are recycled and recyclable.
How the products are made is of the utmost importance. Over the last two decades, the team has built many long-standing relationships with suppliers who share the same values allowing Albaray to collaborate with trusted partners.
The SS22 collection is filled with gorgeous Summer-ready pieces, and started with a patchwork quilt made in the 1950s, which was directly reworked into a quilted jacket (our absolute favourite piece), waistcoat and signature dress with puff sleeves and pockets, all made in 100% organic cotton. The inspiration continued to inform the entire design process, and the result is a “collection filled with a sense of ease and optimism with unique touches that offer something a little bit special”.
Other favourites include this dress (love all the volume in the skirt, and of course the pockets), jumper (so chic, but also super soft and cosy) jeans (the perfect wash, and such a flattering fit), tee (loving those roll sleeves – looks designer), dress (the pretty smocking and tie detail at the back…), top (that collar!), apron dress (would be so lovely with a pretty white blouse layered under) and this dress (sooo pretty, and the perfect summer wedding guest/party dress).
