Beautiful Basics

I must confess, before they approached me to work together I hadn’t actually heard of Everlane. As I sit here, compiling this post I actually can’t believe that now.  In fact, a friend of mine, Lucy said: “I cannot believe you don’t know Everlane!! It’s SO you! It is always the first place I go whenever I’m in New York!!”.  So how this label has passed me by remains a mystery, but let me tell you, I’m now fully on board! If, like me, you love simple, stylish, well/made cut pieces to make up the building blocks of your day-to-day wardrobe/’uniform’ (now, more than ever, as we’re back in full lockdown here in the UK), Everlane is a great discovery. Nothing flashy, overly trend-led (not  to be confused with un-cool though), gimmicky or garish (if you like your bold brights and shouty colours, this is probably not the brand for you!). Just a tight edit of beautiful basics (never underestimate the power of great basics) in those neutral colours we all love (and wear on repeat). But definitely not dull or frumpy – these are ‘elevated’ basics for sure. And the simplicity of the designs are what makes them stand out to me – nothing is trying too hard – for example western style boots.  They’re just western enough. If the heel was any chunkier, or the toe any squarer, I would be out. And I have to admit , the fact that Everlane is a bit under the radar makes me love my new discovery just that little bit more.
As always, I have done a little edit of my favourites, but stand-outs for me include the , the (check out their too) and the . Oh and their  shoes are great too! Love (I’m thinking with a cool trouser suit…), these (you know I love classic , and these are super-chic, and sooo comfortable…), and you already know I love .

ps: they have amazing activewear too…
