There is no doubt that Mary Janes are having a bit of a moment. We’ve been loving them for quite a while already (just saying). Remember that episode in Sex & The City where Carrie goes to the Vogue fashion cupboard and finds the Manolo black patent Mary Janes? Sarah bought those for the twins’ christening back in 2010 (and they’re still going strong). And long-time London-dwellers – who remembers Neal Street East in Covent Garden? And who used to buy the Chinese velvet Mary Jane slippers there? Fast forward to the 2020s and all styles of Mary Janes are back, and going nowhere anytime soon. We love the flats, the block heels and the round toe varieties. And we’re wearing ours mostly with jeans and short dresses. But how many straps? Anything from one to three!
