Sunday Style
A new bag from Isabel Marant, chic rugby shirts, a seriously great blazer
Happy Sunday!
Hope you’re having a gorgeous weekend. I’m off to see ‘Lee’ at my favourite cinema, the Olympic in Barnes, where funnily enough I once did a Jane Barkin inspired shoot for Glamour when it was a recording studio. I must dig that out and share it.
A little bit of news – from Thursday we will be sharing a new feature called ‘Come Shopping with Me’ (I know, we really went for it with the title…), where we will be sharing my finds and favourites in stores (on Insta), then online here (as part of a wider edit). So pieces that I have seen, touched, scrutinised, and sometimes tried on. This is something that I have always loved doing, as it taps straight  back to my styling days as a Fashion Editor. I would go to multiple  press days at the beginning of the season (often dozens), where brands would showcase their new collection, ahead of them dropping in store, and I pull out my favourites and photograph them, to earmark for upcoming shoots. Because we would see so many in one day (sometimes 30+, no exageration), you had to be quick. So I learned to scan a showroom in minutes, spotting the gems to highlight (sometimes just a sleeve poking out from a packed rail would be enough to lead me to a gem). And I do the same thing when I’m shopping. And because I spend such a large proportion of my time searching for things online to share, I have less and less time to actually go shopping. To go to actual shops. So that is changing. And it’s really reminded me how sometimes (not always) things can look/feel/seem VERY different in real life, to online. I know this sounds really obvious, but it’s not always the case. And it can work both ways too – sometimes things that look great IRL can look awful online. So the aim is to cherry-pick my favourites in store, then share and link them in a designated  brand feature here, every Thursday. This Thursday we’re kicking off with John Lewis, and they were possibly the store I found the most things I loved in. And I’m talking just John Lewis own brands (John Lewis, John Lewis ANYWAY, and AND/OR). Let me know what you think?

ps: two things I have just ordered for myself (yesterday), after seeing them IRL at Westfield last week (when I was researching for ‘Come Shopping with Me’, are this M&S trench and these H&M pyjamas (I went for an XL as I wanted them really oversized). Look out for them on Insta soon.
pps: almost forgot this week’s favourites! It’s a while since Isabel brought out a new handbag, and this one is so fab; I’m really into the rugby shirt trend that I’m seeing everywhere, and I like the colours of this one; the shallow cut of these shoes is so chic; and this is a seriously great jacket.
