I can’t get enough of the gorgeous new Dilli Grey block print homewares and lifestyle collection – their signature 100% cotton block-print quilts, embroidered cushions, block-print table linens and new limited-edition sun parasols. All handmade for Dilli Grey in Jaipur by their team of skilled, family-run artisan businesses.
I’m sure you already know that I am a huge fan of both Dilli Grey and block printing (I’ve actually loved/bought it for many years now) when it comes to my home (both inside and out), so I am really excited to share my favourite pieces with you…
I love layering and mixing prints (generally from the same/complimentary colour tones, like the pinks for the table setting). Â They all compliant each other in the prettiest way (personally I’m not a fan of ‘matchy matchy’ – too perfect for my eye…).
I am also a big fan of regularly rotating pieces around my home and garden to change things up (it’s amazing what a difference it can make, both to the way things look, but also to how you feel about your home), making them work harder.  I loved to layer quilts over sofas (and beds, obviously), but also use them on garden furniture in the summer – benches, garden sofas, or our new T.K.Maxx (sale bargain) swinging chair. I even used a tablecloth as a cushion cover – whatever I think looks good really!  Why stop at one use for something when it can have many? I often do this quite spontaneously too (when people are about to arrive for drinks/dinnner!).
I already have this reversible quilt – I love the stripe on the reverse, and regularly switch which side to show. I also have the pale pink version, which I bought last year – so pretty. Dilli Grey do some of the best block printed quilts around (fact), and definitely the best value.
The block print cotton quilts are completely handmade designs on 100% organic cotton fabric. Designed in London, they are then created using traditional hand-block printing techniques for us by a team of artisans in Jaipur, using the gentlest eco dyes. They are then hand-filled with 100% natural cotton fibres and hand-quilted by a women’s co-operative in rural villages outside the city. Each piece is a true one-off, which makes them even more special. I treasure mine.
